  • PRESS RELEASE:

    The Placer County Resource Conservation District is seeking to employ a watershed coordinator to work in the North and Middle Forks of the American River Watershed. This position is funded for a three year period through a State Department of Conservation Grant. Excellent communication skills, computer and organization skills, grant writing and technical and scientific background in water quality/environmental sciences required. Must be willing to travel locally and organize evening, weekend, and weekday meetings.

  • Placer County Fire Safe Alliance Programs:

    Senior/Disabled Defensible Space Assistance - The Fire Safe Alliance, working with community service agencies and service organizations, tries to assist senior citizens and disabled members of our community by providing free or low cost "fuel reduction" on their property. We will begin with residents in our Fire Safe Council areas and expand as funds are available. If you are a professional landscape management, brush clearing or tree pruning company and wish to participate in this program, please call the Alliance office x116 or x118).

    Realtor Information - To help new residents learn about fire safety and how to protect their property, we can provideinformation for Real Estate agents and brokers to share with their clients. Not only will this help buyers, but it will help sellers maximize the value of their property!

    Community "Coffee Klatches" - We'll make a presentation to a you and some of your neighbors, sharing ideas that you can put to use around your property to inprove your chances in a fire. Then we'll arrange for a convenient visit by a Placer County Chipper crew in a couple of weeks, to handle your piles of cleared brush and prunings, leaving the material chipped and ready to be used as mulch.
